In the past, couples were most concerned with getting the traditional formal photographs of their wedding day where the photographer took the time to pose everyone in each picture. Today, couples seem to be most interested in "photojournalistic" or "in the moment" photography where the photographer is more unobtrusive and captures those special moments without interrupting to pose the couple for a particular photograph.

Both of these styles have their pros and cons and that is why Bill Rettberg Photography incorporates a combination of each when photographing your special day.

We are there with you from the initial preparations through the reception to capture each of those special moments, people and details. While many of the "getting ready" and "preparation" photos will be candid or in the moment, we will still take a few minutes to fulfill our obligation to you and get a few good posed photos of those closest to you ( like your parents and bridal party ). After the ceremony is really the only other time we pose people for those important family and bridal party shots. After that, almost everything we shoot is candid.
